                                                                ¿ QUE ES UN PINSAPO?

 ¿Qué es un pinsapo? El pinsapo es una especie de abeto, de distribución restringida a sierras mediterráneas

 del sur de la Península ibérica y el Rif. Es un arbol que puede llegar a medir 30 metros y se caracteriza por

 tener una corteza fina, con grietas oscuras de poca profundidad.

 Tiene hojas gruesas, de sección subcuadrangular, de color verde oscuro. Las piñas de este árbol son

grandes, erguidas, situadas en la parte superior de la copa.

 El hábitat natural de esta especie se localiza al sur de la península ibérica y en el Rif marroquí. Las

principales poblaciones aparecen en varios puntos de las Sierras de Málaga y Cádiz, en el extremo

occidental de la cordillera Bética. La mayor parte de los pinsapares andaluces se encuentran en áreas

 protegidas: Parque Natural de las Sierras y las Nieves y Paraje natural de los reales de Sierra Bermeja, en

 la provincia de Málaga, y Parque natural de la Sierra de Grazalema en la provincia de Cádiz.

 What is a Spanish fir? The Spanish fir is a species of spruce distribution restricted to Mediterranean

  mountains South of the Iberian Peninsula and the Rif. It is a tree that can grow up to 30 meters and is 

characterized by have a thin crust, with shallow dark crevices.

  It has thick leaves, subcuadrangular section, dark green color. The cones of this tree are large, erect, at the 

top of the cup.

 The natural habitat of this species is located south of the Iberian Peninsula and the Moroccan Rif. the main 

populations appear at various points in the Sierras de Málaga and Cádiz, at the end western mountains of 

Andalusia. Most Andalusian pinsapares are in areas Protected: Natural Park of Sierras and Nevis and 

Natural Park of Sierra Bermeja real in Málaga Province and the Natural Park Sierra de Grazalema in Cadiz 

province.
